Privacy Policy

Who we are

Least of These Carolinas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving children affected by foster and kinship care. Our website is https://lotcarolinas.com. Our office is at 1000 S. Myrtle School Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052. You can reach us at info@lotcarolinas.com or (704) 215-4344.

Information we collect

We collect information you choose to give us, and limited technical data needed to run the site:

• Forms and email. Contact, volunteer, partnership, and Wishlist Wednesday sign-up forms collect the fields you submit (typically name, email, and a message). If you email us directly, we keep what you send so we can respond.
• Donations. Gifts are processed on our giving platform at fuel.lotcarolinas.com. Payment details are handled by that provider, not stored on this website. Their privacy practices apply to the donation form.
• Shop. The merch catalog is synced from Printful. Checkout on this site collects your name, email, phone, shipping address, and order. Card payment is processed by Stripe; we do not store card numbers. After payment we send the order and shipping address to Printful to print and ship the item. See Printful’s privacy policy.
• Technical data. Our host may log standard request information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used to operate, secure, and debug the site. We do not run advertising or marketing pixels on this website.

Cookies

This public site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Staff who sign in to the content editor receive an essential session cookie so they stay logged in. It contains no donor or visitor profile data and is not used for marketing. Embedded third-party tools (maps, video, the donation form) may set their own cookies according to those providers’ policies.

Embedded content from other websites

Pages may include content hosted elsewhere — for example the donation form, a Google Map on the contact page, Instagram photos, or a video player. Embedded content behaves as if you visited that other website. Those sites may collect data about you, use cookies, and measure interaction with the embed, including if you are logged in there.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the organization (hosting, email, donations, and merch fulfillment), when you ask us to, or when the law requires it.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

Children in care

Protecting the dignity and safety of children in foster and kinship care is non-negotiable. We do not publish last names, addresses, or other details that could identify a child in care. Sponsorship does not include identifying information about the child you support.

How long we retain your data

Form submissions and email are kept as long as needed to respond and to run programs. Donation records are retained as required for tax and nonprofit accounting, through our giving platform. You can ask us to update or delete information we hold about you, except where we must keep it for legal, security, or financial reasons.

What rights you have over your data

You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it. Email info@lotcarolinas.com with “Privacy” in the subject line. This does not include records we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data is sent

This website is hosted in the United States. Service providers who process donations, merch orders, email, or hosting may store data in the U.S. or other countries where they operate, under their own privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page as the site or our practices change. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the current version. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
